Hours before she was scheduled to play at Co-op Live in Manchester on Saturday, Nicki Minaj was arrested at an airport in the Netherlands. She appeared to broadcast her interaction with security personnel.

When the 41-year-old rapper was traveling from Amsterdam to Manchester for her Pink Friday 2 Tour event, she was arrested at Schiphol airport on suspicion of “possessing soft drugs.”

In the Instagram Live video, Minaj said she wasn’t carrying any narcotics, but she was informed she had to go to the police station.

She “would get a lawyer at the office,” the man on the recording told her, and they would move “as fast as possible.”

An airport security guard allegedly instructed Minaj “to get into this [police] van and go into the precinct with no lawyer present.”

Concerning Minaj, The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee’s Robert van Kapel confirmed to NBC News that they arrested an American woman, age 41, at Schiphol airport for carrying soft narcotics.

It was further stated by Dutch military police that removing such chemicals from the country was forbidden.

The suspect’s name was not confirmed by the police, but they did say that she was being held while they looked into it.

According to a National Police Corps statement to the PA news agency, a lady was arrested when she reportedly attempted to transport soft drugs from Schiphol airport to another nation.

It was verified around 7:30 p.m. that she remains in custody and the police are still looking into the matter.

The American musician also shared a number of comments on X, the platform where she has over 28 million followers. In one of those messages, she stated, “They said they found weed.”

She also commented, “They’re trying to keep me from Manchester,” and “They took my luggage without consent.”

The former judge of “American Idol” performed on Thursday at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and is scheduled to return on June 2nd.

It’s unknown if this had an impact on Minaj’s performance at Co-op Live.

“Please note that general admission and premium doors for tonight’s Nicki Minaj show will now open at 19:00,” the venue’s X account stated in a post at approximately 5:20 p.m.

“Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police location,” Minaj said in her most recent update, which was posted three hours ago.

It has not yet been decided to postpone her appearance at the Co-Op Live in Manchester. The location informed guests that the show would be delayed.
